Time: Group informational/instructional session 10:15am-10:45am; individual car seat installations in the parking lot immediately following (10:45am-12:00pm)

Details: Over 70% of car seats are improperly installed, and even more are used incorrectly. During this event, you will learn how to competently use your car seat and have it installed on site by a Certified Passenger Safety Technician (CPST)! Join CPST Jen Patashnick for an informational and instructional session on car seat use and installation. She will review proper use of car seats including but not limited to how to determine where to place the seat in the vehicle; assess the child's fit in the seat; use and adjust the harness; establish good car seat habits for your family; Massachusetts car seat laws vs best practice; and much more with a focus on newborn safety. Following the session, she will provide car seat installations for participants in the parking lot. The group session will take approximately half an hour and each installation is expected to take 5-10 minutes (particular vehicle and seat matches may take longer).
