WONDERFUL WELCOME

Wonderful Welcome provides a nurturing start for families in the greater Boston area, serving Massachusetts and parts of New Hampshire and Rhode Island.  Our postpartum doulas are available to ease the transition for families welcoming new babies into their homes.  

A postpartum doula is trained to provide infant and new family care throughout the first few days, weeks, and months, with evidence-based assistance for general newborn care including feeding, bathing, and general house care (think laundry! meal and snack prep! dishes!).  

Doulas also help parents accomplish their own self-care by holding and caring for baby so the parents can shower, nap, or have a moment to themselves - or all three!  We provide both emotional and physical support, during the day and/or overnight, all of which research has shown increases bonding, improves post-birth recovery, and reduces the incidence and severity of postpartum depression.

Our primary doula, Jen, has two children, almost two decades of motherhood experience, and is trained and certified as a postpartum doula and lactation educator through CAPPA, one of the oldest and most respected organization of perinatal professionals in the world.  Jen has also sought out and received additional training in lactation education as well as maternal mental health (via the 2020 Mom Project from Postpartum Support International), and stays up to date on current research and best practice guidelines.  Learn more about Jen, her specialties, and what makes Wonderful Welcome uniquely qualified to provide postpartum doula support for your family!
